  • You are invited to attend the annual student/teacher art exhibit at Nazareth College tonight.  Mercy's 3 art teachers have submitted their work along side art students Madeline Pizzo, Kaitlyn Lisena, and Angelica Jacobs.  Please congratulate the girls when you see them and join us at the opening tonight from 5-8pm at the Nazareth College Art Center.

  • Attention all soccer players:  There will be a meeting on Monday after school on the varsity field for all those interested in playing soccer next fall for Mercy.  Any questions see Coach Trost in room 108.

  • Attention students in grades 8-11: If you are interested in joining Model United Nations club next school year there will be a brief interest meeting on Monday, June 1st at 7:15am in the board room.  Flyers will also be posted around school with information!

  • Congratulations to Clarissa Melendez who is May's Bookstore "Customer of the Month". Clarissa, on Monday, please pick up your $5 gift certificate in the Bookstore.  Congrats!

  • Sophomores, the following people have been elected to represent your class on student council.  They are: Joyce Ding, Carlie Clarcq, Danielle Raymond, Katherine Warth, and Nina Swan.  Congratulations on your election.  Please come down to room 202 on Monday at 7:30 for your first meeting.

  • Attention all Orchestra members:  Please report to the orchestra room during advisement today for Graduation Orchestra rehearsals.

  • Attention all underclassmen & Juniors:  today during Advisement come to the Gallery to say something brief for the senior goodbye video!  See Caroline Crilly or Deirdre Kelly if you have any questions.

  • Hello Everyone,  Here's an invitation for you to attend the annual student/teacher art exhibit at Nazareth College.   • Please join the art club for our final meeting of the year- today after school from 3-4 pm in the High School art room-115.  Come celebrate our art adventures with some refreshments and a brief activity.  All are welcome.

  • Attention all sophomores and Juniors that want to run for class officer next year, you need to see Mrs. Melton (room 202) by the end of the day.

  • A reminder to Juniors registered for AP Literature next year:  There is a brief but mandatory meeting today at the beginning of Advisement in Room 211.  Please be prompt.

  • Quill Editorial board applications are due Friday to Mr. Strong

  • Anyone traveling to the Shaw festival on Sunday with Bluestockings must meet with Mrs. Boesl during Advisement today.

  • Applications for the 2015-16 Quill Editorial Board for due to Mr. Strong by Friday.

  • Quill Editors - do a final check of your pages by Wednesday so the paper can go to the printer.

  • There will be a meeting tomorrow for anyone interested in doing cross country next fall.  We will be meeting in the gallery.

  • Passport is going to Mary's Place for the last time this school year. There are still spots left in Mrs. Randazzese's van.  Sign up outside the Passport office.

  • On Friday, there will be a Passport Pizza Party in the cafeteria after school.  Come and celebrate a great year of volunteering.  During 2nd and 3rd lunches starting tomorrow for the rest of week, donate a canned good or new or gently used clothing to “Buy/Reserve” your piece of pizza and cookie.  All donations go to Mary's Place and Bethany House.  Anyone, grades 9-12, is welcome on Friday after school for pizza, cookies, games, music and fun.

  • Attention all Orchestra members:  There will be 2 graduation orchestra rehearsals this week during Advisement.  Please report to the orchestra room during advisement this week on Tuesday and Thursday for Graduation Orchestra rehearsals.

  • The Mercy Shakespeare Players would like to invite all interested 8th-11th graders to our Midsummer Night’s Dream informational meeting today during advisement in the Faculty Dining room.  We will hand out audition dates and talk about the show itself.

  • Thank you to everyone who participated in the Colleen Harrington Walk yesterday.  Thank you to the NHS members who helped with registration, marshalling, and food.  Thank you to all the students who came and walked and stayed for our picnic.  Through the generosity of you, your parents, and friends we raised close to $8,000 for our scholarship fund.  Well done, Mercy!

SPORTS

  • On Saturday May 23  Mercy Crew's Womens Junior Varsity Four boat won, yes won, the 2015 Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championships in Camden, New Jersey!  Earning gold medals and the title of 2015 SRAA National Champions are: coxswain Natalie Ioele and rowers: Krissy Stoev, Chloe Shortz, Emma Nugent, and Bridey Ryan. The team was coached by Mercy Crew Coach David Bloom.  Mercy Crew's Lightweight Eight boat placed eighth with coxswain: Marlena Morton and rowers: Ally Seymour, Isabelle Lafler, Lauren Marr, Lauren Mattle, Allyson Wentworth, Allison MacDonald, Meghan Schaeffer, and Megan Kilmartin.  The boat was coached by Mercy Crew Coach Ashley Amos.

  • Attention all Orchestra members:  Please report to the orchestra room during advisement this week on Thursday for Graduation Orchestra rehearsals.

  • There will be a run club triathlon practice today and tomorrow after school.

  • Attention all underclassmen & Juniors:  Thursday during Advisement come to the Gallery to say something brief for the senior goodbye video!  See Caroline Crilly or Deirdre Kelly if you have any questions.

  • Passport is going to The Legacy after school today. Please sign up outside of the Passport office.

  • This Sunday, Passport is cooking breakfast for the families at the Ronald McDonald House early in the morning. Sign up by tomorrow if you'd like to join in the cooking fun!

  • Attention DECA members, if you still have a binder of prep materials for your event, please return them as soon as possible.  Also, if you are interested in being a DECA officer next year, please see Mr. Hagens.

SPORTS

  • Mercy crew rowed terrific races this past weekend at the Pittsford regatta.  Mercy Crew's Novice Girls Lightweight 4 placed second, earning silver medals, with coxswain Helen Hassett, and rowers Marlo Scherer, Maddy Morreale, Julia Cilano, and Ava Bianchi.  Mercy Crew's Double placed second, earning silver medals, with rowers Allie Hodge and Mary Kosanke. Mercy Crew's Lightweight Eight paced first, earning gold medals, with coxswain Marlena Morton and rowers Ally Seymour, Izzy Lafler, Lauren Marr, Lauren Mattle, Allyson Wentworth, Allison MacDonald, Megan Schaeffer, and Megan Kilmartin.

  • Congrats to the Mercy faculty & staff who represented Mercy at the Chase Corporate Challenge 5K last night.  Ms. Costello, Mrs. Gallagher, Mrs. Whipple, Mrs. Vita, Mrs. Hentschke, Mrs. Lawniczak, Mrs. Keneally & Team Captain Ms. Zaffuto all ran a great race!
