Announcements - December 16, 2014

  • We have a student coming to visit from Yale University on Wednesday December 17th at 11am.  She will be sharing the student perspective of a Yale student.  The visit will take place in the Counseling Library.

 

  • There will be Master Minds practice after school today in Room 113.

 

  • Ally Kenyon is the winner of the Starbucks gift card for guessing the writer whose picture is in the library. Congrats, Ally! Please stop down to the library to pick up your prize. Stay tuned for January’s library contest.

 

  • Quill Editors - there will not be a meeting on Wednesday.  Merry Christmas!

 

  • There will be a Master Minds practice after school today in room 113.

Announcements - December 15, 2014

  • Miss Bianchi's period 4 Speech class please report to the auditorium for class today.

  • The robotics team will NOT be meeting today.

  • Passport is going to the Fairport Baptist home tomorrow to help the elderly with odds and ends jobs. We will do Christmas decorating, baking and anything helpful. Please sign up outside of Mrs. Randazzese's office if you would like to come tomorrow afternoon.

  • Attention students in grades 6-9: auditions for the children’s theatre performance of The Fairy Tale Network will be Monday December 15 or Tuesday December 16 at 3 PM in Mrs. Northrup’s room (M-210). Please come with a short monologue memorized; if you need a monologue please see Mrs. Northrup. We will perform The Fairy Tale Network during Arts Fest this year!

  • There is a President’s Cabinet Meeting tomorrow at 7:15 in the Board Room. All are welcome!

  • There will be Master Minds practice after school tomorrow in Room 113.

  • Please CONGRATULATE Ms. Zaffuto, she graduated with her Masters’ degree over the weekend!

Announcements - December 10, 2014

12/10: Please join art club for a holiday project on Thursday after school from 3-4pm in the middle school art room M107.  All are welcome!

12/10: There will be no communion service today and no guided meditation on Thursday, the same is true for next week.  They will resume after the Christmas break.

12/10: Tomorrow, Thursday is a dress down day to benefit the Christmas Basket project.  We depend on your dollar to purchase the fresh foods for our families.  Let's have 100% participation.

12/10: 9-12 CMB reps. will meet Friday at 7:15 a.m. in the senior lounge.

12/10: Be sure to come out and support the Mercy Varsity basketball team tonight at 7:30 at Sutherland.  The news says “It’s the game of the week.”

12/10: There will be an Academic Challenge Bowl practice tomorrow after school in room 113.

12/10: Reminder to Juniors & Seniors:  CPR certification money is due this Friday.  Checks should be made out to Mercy.

SPORTS

12/10: The Bowling team won their match yesterday against Northeast/Northwest, 6 points to 0. Catherine Tobin bowled a 183 game, Christina Veloski a 151 and Miri Schwarzer-Easton had a personal best of 137. Next Match is today vs. Wilson.


Announcements - December 4, 2014

12/4:    This is a reminder that Middle School Orchestra students will have a rehearsal this morning during period 2.  All Middle School Orchestra students please go to the auditorium stage for period 2 today.

12/4:    This is a reminder for all Learn to Play an Instrument students.  Please go to the large rehearsal room for an extra rehearsal today during period 8.  That’s Learn to Play classes go to the large rehearsal room today during period 8. 

12/4:    Attention Broadway Babies....  Auditions for this year’s musical Into the Woods will be held on:
December 11 3:00-4:00 Middle School Auditions only
December 11 4:00-5:00 High School Auditions only
December 16 3:00-5:00 High School Auditions only
December 18 3:00-5:00 Callbacks
No preparations are needed, songs and monologues will be provided at the auditions.


12/4:    Attention all students, Arts Fest auditions will be held on January 7  and January 8 from 3-5 in the auditorium. Each performance piece can be no longer than 5 minutes and must be presented in its entirety at the audition, all dancers must wear performance costume and all performers must have a copy of their music available for the directors to keep. Sign ups will be posted on the drama board after Thanksgiving break.

12/4:    Come cheer on our Lego League team, the Black Diamond Llamas, this Sunday at the University of Rochester. They are competing in the championship tournament! Spectators should plan to arrive around 12:15 to the Goergen Athletic Center to see robot matches! Wish the team good luck!

12/4:    Passport is collecting milk cartons at lunches today. We need them to make Gingerbread Houses with the homeless children at the Sanctuary House next Saturday. Please put them in the box in the middle of the cafeteria marked for Passport.  

12/4:    Mercy’s Academic Challenge Bowl Team performed well at yesterday’s first league matches.  We defeated Siena Catholic Academy before losing to Honeoye Falls-Lima Middle School.  Elizabeth Meisenzahl led our team in individual scoring.  We will have practice today after school in room 113.

12/4:    Monday December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and mass will be celebrated in the auditorium in the morning.  Father Ed Palumbos will be our presider.

12/4:    Mercy Shakespeare Players announcement – Attention all high school students in or interested in joining Mercy Shakespeare Players:  our next meeting will be held today from 3-4 in the auditorium.  Also, if you haven’t already, please join the Edmodo group qg4mam.  Again qg4mam.

SPORTS:

12/4:    The Bowling team has won three of its four matches to earn second place in Division I of the City -Catholic League. Yesterday they defeated Monroe 6-0. Catherine Tobin had the high score with a 160 while Montana Ragland scored a 136 and Maggie Eckert a 112.
