Announcements - October 24, 2014

10/24   Would you like to dress up as a Zombie to help the Special Olympics?  Next Wednesday night at the Rochester Public Market’s Food Truck Rodeo you can be a Zombie to help promote the ‘rUNDEAD’ run which benefits the Special Olympics.  Sign up outside of Mrs. Randazzese’s office. 

10/24: Today is the last day to guess the book on the pumpkin in the library and enter the drawing for a Starbucks’ gift card. Drawing will be this Monday morning, so stop down to the library today!

10/24:  Basketball for grades 7,8, and 9 starts Monday.  Please see the nurse to make sure you are approved.

SPORTS:

10/24: Good luck to the mercy Cheerleaders tomorrow as they compete in Sectionals at 1pm! Go monarchs!

10/24:  The Cross Country team defeated Aquinas at Genesee Valley Park this past Wednesday.  Katie Sergeant led the team followed by Charlotte Kurzweil, Laura Huff, and Elisha Early.  It was a great meet for everyone and many girls ran their best times!  Wish the cross country team luck this weekend for their meet in the Adirondacks!  There will be an indoor track meeting next Thursday, November 30th.  Please see Sara Lozy-Lester if you have any questions.


Announcements - October 23, 2014

10/23: We are excited about our Open House this afternoon and will be closing the Gallery from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm for cleaning.  Please be sure to adjust your plans on this day, if necessary.  Also any belongings on the top of lockers at dismissal will be disposed of, so make sure to clean off your locker.

10/23: Wells College will be visiting tomorrow.  Please stop by the guidance office to get more information.

10/23:  Do you know how to ski?  Do you like spending time with friends?  Dow you want to meet new people?  Now here is the real question… Do you want to be a part of a really fun sports season?!  Come learn about the Mercy ski team.  An informational meeting will be held in room 107 today after school.  Grades 9-12 are welcome!  Come to the meeting to learn about the best ski team around!  Please see Logan Ellis in homeroom 221 if you have any questions or are unable to come to the meeting.

10/23: Come tryout for the Mercy Family Fun Night Coffee House.  Tryouts are open to all students in grades 6-12.  You can sign-up ahead of time or just walk-in.  Try-outs are today at 3pm or Saturday Nov 1st in the Mercy music room.

10/23:   Modified basketball approved student list will be posted outside the nurse’s office by the end of the day.

SPORTS:

10/23:  Mercy Varsity soccer defeated Canandaigua 5-0 last night.  Lizzy Glynn scored the first goal.  Mary LoCicero scored, Anna Doerr scored twice followed by the final goal by Emily Wade.  The Monarchs play round 2 of sectionals this Saturday at 3 at Mercy against Wayne.  Come and support the team!


Announcements - October 21, 2014

10/21: Garden Club is back!  We will have our first meeting on tomorrow and will meet in room M103.  Be sure to bring a change of clothes and a pair of garden gloves.  We will work until 4pm.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Hendrick or Mrs. Callari.

10/21: Union College, Messiah College, and Colgate University will be visiting Mercy today.  Bentley University, Fordham University, St. Joseph’s University, Alfred University, and Loyola of Maryland will be visiting tomorrow.  Please stop by the guidance office to get more information.

10/21:  Quill Editors please meet in the Quill office Wednesday at 7:15 to check progress on the 2nd issue.

10/21:  Please clean off the tops of your lockers.  Anything left on top of your locker will be disposed of Wednesday afternoon.  Also, there is a lost and found table outside of the cafeteria.  Please check it for any of your belongings.  It will be there until Wednesday afternoon.

10/21: This Friday will be the picture makeup day.  If you need an order form please stop by the main office.  Pictures will be taken from 10:30-12:30 in the gallery.

10/21: Passport is going to the Legacy tomorrow to help the elderly residents with pumpkin carving and crafts. Please sign up outside of Mrs. Randazzese's office if you'd like to join in the fun. 

SPORTS:

10/21: Modified volleyball practice is canceled today.  Game at Waterloo tomorrow for teams A and B.

10/21:  Please join the Mercy cheerleaders this evening at 6pm as they host the Mercy Fall Cheer Classic Competition. Watch your mercy Cheerleaders kickoff the competition with their performance followed by other area high school teams here to compete.  Thank you!

10/22:  Mercy Globe Med club meeting Thursday in room 206 at 7:20.

10/22: Mercy Swimmers had a meet yesterday against Webster.  Great swims for the entire team with again many season & personal best times!  Krista Barbeau started out the meet with a win in the 200 Free, touching out two swimmers from Webster, in 1:59.95.  Personal bests were achieved by Heidi Klein in the 50 Free & 100 Free, Janessa Chichelli in the 200 Free & 100 Fly, Meagan Martin & Kaleigh Vita in the 100 Free, Sydney Vita in the 500 Free with a 11 sec drop!, Katie Holdsworth in the 100 Back, Alanna Dodge & Emma Weber in the 100 Breast.  Both the 200 Free & 400 Free Relays with Krista Barbeau, Emma Weber, Alex Webb, & Heidi Klein went best times as well!  Great Job in the pool & supporting one another ladies!  The swimmers have their last meet tomorrow against Penfield.  Come out and support the team and our seniors!!!
