  • The first winner of the Bookstore's "Customer of the Month" has been drawn.  A five dollar gift certificate to the Bookstore for January's customer of the month goes to ANNA CALLARI.  Congratulations, Anna.  Please stop by the store to pick up your certificate.  On Monday we will start collecting names for the February winner.  Best of luck!

 

  • This announcement is about an event that may potentially affect MANY students, so please listen up!  Next Tuesday morning, February 3, Mercy will be administering the annual American Math Competition in the cafeteria from 7:45 until 9:20 AM.  The cafeteria will be closed to everyone except participants during that time.

·         If you are a participant, you should be in the cafeteria by 7:45.  (Do NOT go to homeroom.)

·         If you are a regular breakfast eater, please note that breakfast that morning will be served only until              7:45, so you should plan to be out of the cafeteria by that time.

·         If you normally pass through the cafeteria on your way to Period 2 or Period 3, you will have to take a           different route.

Sorry for the inconvenience!  Thanks for your cooperation.  It’s only one day out of the year!

  • 9-12 CMB reps. will meet Friday morning at 7:15 a.m. in the senior lounge.

 

  • Attention all students - On Friday for Arts Fest you may wear dress down bottoms and your class color shirt.  Also, lunch will be provided free of charge.

 

  • CMB is happy to announce that today is our first birthday treat day of the year.  If you celebrated your birthday in September, October, November or December you may pick up your treat during lunches today.We did not send out individual notes--instead there is a master list so we can check off your name.  Enjoy!

 

  • The Academic Challenge Bowl team split its matches yesterday at HFL.  Mercy defeated Gates-Chili in the first game before losing to Webster Spry in the second game Elizabeth Meisenzahl led the Monarchs in scoring.  There will be practice today after school in Room 113.

 

  • Attention Arts Fest Performers- If you are performing in the final assembly or in the auditorium during the day and have a music track accompanying your performance you must send an electronic file or music link to Emma Broderick at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. today. This will ensure that all music is compatible with our sound system. Music that is not submitted to Emma by Thursday will not be played. Any questions please email Miss Bianchi.
  • Tomorrow, Passport is going to the Legacy after school.  We had fun Wii bowling with them last week.  Mercy girls always bring such joy to the elderly resident’s hearts.  They love doing crafts, playing games,or playing rummikub with you.  Consider coming with us.  Please sign up outside of Mrs. Randazzese’s office.  

 

  • After selling out of sweatpants and spirit shirts at Christmas time, the bookstore is now fully re-stocked with all items,  in all sizes.  The gray sweatpants that you all love are now also available for a limited time, in navy.  Also, with the start of second semester comes the start of the Bookstore “Customer of the Month”.  If you spend over ONE DOLLAR in the store, you may enter into a monthly drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the Bookstore.

 

  • There will be a Master Minds practice after school today in room 113.

  • Students owing CPR Certification $ must get that to Mrs. Barbero (in the Phys Ed office) during homeroom.

  • Attention students who ride the Penfield bus… on Friday, January 30, Penfield students don’t have school so you will not be picked up at your usual stop in the morning.  You need to get to your transfer location -either the high school or Bay Trail, and take the bus from there.  You afternoon schedule will not change.  Please see Mrs. Hentschke at the main office if you have questions.

  • There will be a Master Minds practice after school on Tuesday in Room 113.

  • On January 17th, the entire Mercy Debate Team took Third Place overall against nine regional teams!  The team includes: Maddie Bianchi, Ava Esquier, Bernadette Cruu, Bridget Lawless, and Sarah Chew.  In the finals, the Harley coach judged the Public Forum round of students from Mercy and McQuaid and told all students this was possibly the best Public Forum debate he had seen--and that included States.  They also had a great tournament this past weekend at Mt. Markham.  Maddie Bianchi and Bernadette Bruu both placed first in their events and are now qualified for states along with Ava Esquier.  Congratulations on a great season so far to all our girls!

  • Tomorrow, Passport is going to help the elderly at the Fairport Baptist Home after school.  In the evening Passport is going to bake cookies at the Hospice Care Center.  There are a few spots open in both of these volunteer opportunities.  Sign up outside of Mrs. Randazzese’s office in the 3rd floor, middle staircase.
