MIDDLE SCHOOL
OUR HISTORY | COMMUNITY SERVICE | MIDDLE SCHOOL
Since 1990, Mercy has sponsored a Middle School program on the main campus for seventh and eighth grade girls. As a leader in academic excellence for young women, Mercy's Middle School meets and exceeds educational standards. Students benefit from learning in an educational setting connected to the high school, which is known for its college preparatory program.
Social & Special Activities
The school year begins with an adventure ropes course to help build self-confidence and a spirit of cooperation rather than competition. From there, activities throughout the year provide great opportunities for students. Middle School students participate in school wide activities such as the annual magazine drive, the Christmas basket project, raffle ticket sales for Mission Month, and the Arts Fest.
Sports
Students can participate in the Modified Sports programs for Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Track & Field and Volleyball. They compete against teams from other area seventh and eighth grades. Middle School students are eligible to try out for both Junior Varsity and Varsity High School sports, provided they pass the State-mandated physical fitness test.
Ministry Days
The Ministry Days program provides an opportunity for students to live the Gospel through community service. Teams of students, along with parent and faculty advisors, go out to day care centers, schools, senior centers, and other agencies to participate in and learn from their programs.
The Circle of Mercy
The spirit of the Middle School students is unlimited as they prove each day how exciting it is to be a part of Our Lady of Mercy High School. Parent involvement in planning and implementation of the many extra-curricular activities and ministry opportunities is welcomed and encouraged. Faculty and staff, together with parents, help our young women to reach their potential during their two years in Middle School.
