CLASS OF 1962
Wendy Lesniak Long
When my acting career started waning, about 15 yrs. ago, I returned to school for certification and an M.A. to teach English on the secondary level. I am, at present, part-time at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield, Ct. where I teach 2 classes of 8th grade Reading and direct the spring musical. As a member of a professional workshop, Theatre Artists, I feel blessed to have a "gymnasium" to stretch and exercise my acting and directing muscles. My husband of 31 years, Jim, is a professor of philosophy at Fairfield University. On June 14th, we will take advantage of an NEH grant awarded to Jim and 11 other national scholars spending 6 weeks in Italy to study the many aspects of St. Francis of Assisi.
After graduating from Princeton University and acting professionally for 6 years, our son, Damian, received a Masters in Humanities with a concentration in English from the University of Chicago and is now teaching high school. After attending Vassar College, our second son, Justin, became an actor: Galaxie Quest, Jeepers Creepers, Dodgeball, Herbie the Love Bug, The Break Up, the soon-to-be- released, Accepted, among others. He also had a recurring role on the TV. show, Ed, and plays the "Mac-Dude" on the new MacIntosh commercials.) Our third son, Christian, is a graduate of Colgate University and is living with Justin, trying his hand at.....guess what, acting.
We are all very grateful for good health and good friends. My Mom, God love her, is 89, living on her own in Florida, doing volunteer work and being floor commando for her condo. After a bout with ovarian cancer and chemo last year, I am doing well, am back in ballet class, and also studying Italian this year.
Love to all my fellow classmates.....looking forward to our next big reunion.

As the Class of 1962's 45th Reunion approaches this fall, several of my Mercy and St. James Parochial School classmates are also anticipating and planning for the 50th Reunion of our 8th Grade Class in 2008. We are really looking forward to reconnecting with our former classmates and have been successful in "finding" about 85% of our class!!! Just want to encourage all of our SJS/OLM classmates to attend the 45th Reunion in October, 2007 and our 50th SJS Reunion in June, 2008!!!! (02/07)

I've been married for 41 years to Jim and we have a daughter, Tracey and a son, David. Tracey has given us twin granddaughters and David has given us a grandson (named Barron after my family) and a granddaughter. Since most of you are grandparents, you know they are the light of our lives and keep us "young".
We have lived in Texas since 1977. For a brief time we lived in Ohio and as a result of a flood we experienced there, I lost my yearbook and wish I still had it because the older I get the less I remember! I have great memories of my time at Mercy, but I have never been good with names. (09/06)

I have been married to Bill for 42 years. We have 2 children, Laurie and Scott. We also enjoy 3 granddaughters and 1 grandson. We work for a campground directory in the summer, out of our motorhome. We winter in Florida, where my mom and brothers live. I think of Mercy often and still see a few of my classmates. The four years there meant so much to me and who I am today. My husband and daughter are cancer survivors and I know my strength came in part from those years. I would love to hear from any of you who read this. Karen (10/05)

Have worked at MCC, Assistant Professor, Health and Physical Education for past 7 years. Will retire in June 2005. Married Paul Dwyer, March 17, 2001. We have 6 children between the two of us.
My first husband died, June 1996. Have two children, daughter Kelly Holley, age 34, son, Brian Watson, age 32. One grandson, Timothy Bruce Watson, 1 year old. Plan to travel with Paul during our first year of retirement. Went to 40th reunion dinner and caught up with many friends, enjoyed seeing everyone. Still keep in touch with Diane Peck. My twin sister, Sheila, also lives in Rochester. It is good to be back in Rochester after 30 years living away from my birthplace. (01/05)
