  • The Mercy MasterMinds Team had a good performance at our meet yesterday at Greece Odyssey Academy.  After dropping the first match in a close contest against East Rochester, the Varsity came back strong in its win against Livonia..  Top scorers for the Monarchs were Elizabeth Meisenzahl and Katie Giugno.  Mercy continues to sit alone in first place in the league.  The JV won both of its matches, defeating East Rochester and Greece Olympia.  In the match against Olympia, Mercy won by a score of 110-105.  Tops scorers for the JV were Paige Eaton and Laura Giugno.
  • Spring sports start soon.  Varsity and JV health forms are due to the school nurse Feb. 27.   All forms and information are available on the Mercy website.
  • Congratulations to the Mercy bowling team on their 6th place finish in the Class B finals on Tuesday.. The team's total pins for the day was a season high of 3,905. The high game for Mercy was 185 by Amanda Folwell. Top Mercy scores for the series were: Christina Veloski 985, Amanda Folwell 849 and Shirley Ying 779. Well done, Monarchs!

  • The Mercy basketball team defeated Bishop Kearney last night in front a sold out crowd in the Mercy Gymnasium.  The Monarchs scored their final basket with 3 seconds left to earn a 61 to 60 victory.  Their last game of the regular season is tomorrow at home against Edison Tech, with jv tipoff at 5, and varsity at 6:30.

After losing the dropping the first game 699 to 538, Mercy came back with their best game of the season, decisively winning 757 to 663 and earning a second place finish overall in the tournament. Notable scores were Christina Veloski with 226, Shirley Ying with 144 and Kelly Lozy-Lester with 132.
  • This Monday will be senior night for the varsity basketball team.  The jv will host Penfield at 5pm and the varsity will host Bishop Kearney at 7pm.  The Lion’s Den Student Section is calling for a “WHITE OUT” for this Monday night’s games.  All students, faculty, staff, and fans in are encouraged to wear white to the game.  As an incentive, any Mercy student wearing her “Lion’s Den” t-shirt Monday night, will receive a free slice of pizza at the game.  Please see Mr. Yandek in the athletics office if you would like to purchase a t-shirt for Monday night.  Let’s white out the gym this Monday!
  • Do you have gently used books and toys around the house? If so support the Monroe County Court Child services January 29- February 9th and bring them in. They watch kids while their parents are in court and send kids home with a book and toy. Collection boxes can be found in the gallery, by the main office, and in the middle school.
