  • Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team on winning the Class A1 Sectional Championship over the weekend.  The Monarchs defeated Pittsford Mendon in the Championship game by a score of 19-9.  Ellie Schler was named tournament MVP, and Nicole Bell, Olivia Ortega, Danielle Salina, and Kate Vara were named to the all-tournament team.  Mercy plays Pittsford Sutherland today at 6pm at SUNY Brockport in the A1 – A2 Crossover game.
  • The Varsity Lacrosse Team defeated Wayne on Saturday in the Class C semi-finals by a score of 18-5.  The Monarchs advance to the Sectional Championship game tomorrow against HF-L.  That game will be played at 5pm at Webster Schroeder High School.
  • The Senior Portfolio art class would like to invite all students, faculty, staff and Mercy community members to the second annual Senior Art Show on display now in the second floor Art Gallery.  This show features over 40 exceptional artworks made by our seniors.   The exhibition will run through to the last day of school, so please check it out and support our seniors!

  • Just a reminder that if you are taking the on-line summer health course there is a meeting during advisement in the Black Box Theater.  If you cannot attend this there will be a meeting Wednesday, May 31 after school in room M-13.  If you cannot attend either, see Mrs. Decosse in M-13.  
  • Attention all injured students on crutches, or in a cast or brace::  If you are free at the start of advisement please meet Mrs. Hentschke outside the first floor elevator to have a group picture taken.  We are looking for examples of grit and you show this every day!
  • Attention Quill editors and writers: There will be an end-of-the-year celebration Tuesday during advisement in room 206. Please stop by if you get a chance.
  • The Mercy MasterMinds Team ended its season yesterday, dropping its second round playoff match against a very tough Victor team 370-265.  Elizabeth Meisenzahl led the team in scoring with 35 points.  Mercy finished first in League #4 with a record of 12 wins, 0 losses.  Katie Giugno and Elizabeth Meisenzahl were selected all-stars and our seniors Megan Green, Chelsi Santiago, Sophia Cavacos, and Kelly Murphy all made significant contributions during the year.  Great season, Monarchs!

  • This past weekend the Mercy/McQuaid sailing team competed at the First Annual Foundry Cup in Cleveland, Ohio. The team of Gavin Bloom and Emily Davis raced A division, while Brent Penwarden and Sarah Chew raced in B division. Both teams raced very well earning an overall 1st place finish!
  • Congrats to Abigail Hentschke, Grace Taylor, Bridget Taylor, and sophomore Emily Davis on a great showing as well.
  • Congrats to the Varsity Softball team on their extra-inning win over Irondequoit yesterday in the 2nd round of the sectional tournament.  The Monarchs advance to play Spencerport on Thursday in Round 3.
  • The Varsity Lacrosse team will play in the sectional semi-finals this Saturday at 11am at Webster Schroeder High School.  They will play the winner of the Wayne – Newark game scheduled for this afternoon.

  • Congratulations to the Science club on winning in two categories at the Envirothon competition yesterday.  Sarah Burke, Jane Brennan, Sophia Cavacos, Diana Colpoys, and Rachel Donnellan won the Wildlife category.  Maddie Bianchi, Marisol Hooks, Megan Green, Pam White, and Kaylina Plummer won the Current Environmental Issue oral presentation category. Congrats ladies!!
