COMMUNITY SERVICE

OUR HISTORY | COMMUNITY SERVICE | MIDDLE SCHOOL

An important part of the Mercy experience is community service. Students support local, national and international needs through volunteerism, advocacy and fundraising. Annual projects include:

MINISTRY DAYS - The Ministry Day program provides an opportunity for students in 7th and 8th grade to live the Gospel through community service. Teams of students, along with parent and faculty advisors, go out to day care centers, schools, senior centers, and other agencies to participate in and learn from their programs.

ROCHESTER PSYCHIATRIC CENTER - Throughout the year, students volunteer time at RPC to host bingo games and other activities for the clients. At Christmas, students collect and wrap hundreds of gifts to distribute at the annual holiday party, which is complete with caroling, cookies and punch.

CHRISTMAS BASKETS - The holiday time can be a challenge for those in need. Each year, Mercy students and faculty collect gifts and household items for families and deliver them after the annual Golden Mass.

MISSION MONTH - The month of March is dedicated to raising awareness of the needs of people outside of the circle of Mercy. Throughout Mission Month, students have various fundraisers to raise money to send to over 20 mission groups both locally and abroad.
