PRINCIPAL'S LETTER
March 26, 2008
Dear Mercy Families:
I continue to be impressed with all that goes on here at Our Lady of Mercy High School. This past month our Mock Trial team won 1st place for the third straight year in Monroe County competition beating Brighton in the finals. Our DECA club did an outstanding job at the New York State Competition with eight students qualifying to compete at the National competition in Atlanta next month.
A group of middle school basketball players and their families took a trip to Rennes, France to play other teams and to learn more about the French Culture. Our Indoor Track team won the Section V Championship for the third straight year. We had a Winter Formal where over 500 students participated in a fun-filled evening. Mission Month raised thousands of dollars for a variety of great causes by hosting events like the Mercy/McQuaid faculty volleyball, mission walks, bowl-a-thons and badminton tournaments.
Meanwhile, school continues to roll on. We had a 100-day celebration for seniors who only have 100 days left before graduation. Spring sports have begun. Registration for next year’s classes has taken place. We are nearing the end of the third marking period and plans are underway for graduation, May Day celebration Junior Prom, Senior Ball, and many more year-end activities.
We have a terrific school with wonderful students, supportive parents, and a great faculty. As the weather warms up, please continue to support our efforts to keep our young ladies focused on their studies, maintaining the appropriate dress that we continue to expect and making appropriate choices. We are all in this together. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please fee free to call 288-7120 ext. 303 or e-mail me at tquinn@mercyhs.com.
May God bless,
Terry Quinn
