19th Amendment Centennial Approaching

August 14, 2020

Mercy is proud to celebrate the upcoming centennial of the 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote on August 18 (although minority women still endured restrictions for years to come). In recognition of the hard-fought “battle for the ballot” led by local suffragist Susan B. Anthony, Mercy is honored to continue her mission of equality for all by educating young women to become leaders of tomorrow. In the spirit of empowering women, we encourage you to view the documentary film ‘Represent,’ which is now open virtually at The Little Theatre. The film follows three women seeking political office at the local level and their fight to reshape politics on their own terms. Visit www.thelittle.org for more information about the viewing.
