Dr. Maxwell – Mercy’s Healthcare Hero!

March 19, 2021

Congratulations to Mercy COVID-19 Task Force Chair Dr. James “Jim” Maxwell on his selection as a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes awards! Jim, along with other Rochester area professionals, is being honored for his “excellence in making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Rochester area.” Dr. Maxwell, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center and Chief of Neurosurgery at Rochester General Hospital, has led Mercy’s COVID-19 Task Force since its formation last year, guiding the school through the pandemic and providing sage recommendations for decision-making. Assisting Jim on the Task Force is Mercy Board member Dr. Colleen Davis, Chief of the Pediatric Emergency Department at University of Rochester Golisano Children’s Hospital, along with several staff and community volunteers. Jim will be honored during a virtual celebration in May. Congratulations to our very own Health Care Hero and everyone on the Task Force who keep our students and faculty/staff safe!
