Jessica Schiffhauer ’21 pitches her product to YEA

April 1, 2019

Congratulations to Mercy sophomore Jessica Schiffhauer ’21 who recently participated in Young Entrepreneurs Academy’s version of ‘Shark Tank.’ Students presented their product ideas in hopes of receiving funding for development. Each student created a business plan and presented to a panel of judges. Jessica’s business, Simple Compassion, is a not-for-profit organization that manufactures and sells ‘compassion kits’ people can keep in their car, backpack, purse, etc. so they may give it to someone in need. The kits include tissues, a granola bar, socks, ChapStick, hand warmers, and an emergency Mylar blanket. Not only was Jessica awarded $367, she received a $600 ROC Parent Magazine advertising campaign as well as a $100 print package from Printing Plus. Nice job, Jessica!
