Motto Project Brings Awareness to Social Media Ills

November 12, 2019

On Sunday, November 10, Mercy Senior Gianna Cutaia ’20 organized the ‘Be Confidently You Fashion Show’ to bring awareness to the negative ways social media affects girls. Gianna selected this topic for her Motto Project because of her realization of how social media was negatively affecting her life and the lives of her peers. Students modeled clothing from area boutiques and then changed into outfits in which they were comfortable to emphasize beauty ‘with no filter.’ Over 100 people attended this event held at Shadow Lake. All money raised was donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
