While some colleges and universities may not require standardized test scores as part of their admissions process, Mercy students are strongly encouraged to take the SAT and ACT. Our students have consistently scored above the national test averages–the class of 2018 had a mean composite SAT score of 620 for Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 580 for Math, as well as a composite score of 25.8 on the ACT.
During the month of October, students in grades 9, 10, and 11 are required to take the PSAT 8/9, Pre-ACT, and PSAT/NMSQT, respectively. These tests help each student prepare to earn her best scores on the SAT and ACT. They are part of the college preparatory aid administered by the Counseling Department, which also includes on-site ACT testing and SAT and ACT review sessions.
