As part of their project-based learning, in Enrichment class, Mercy 6th graders research and write a 3-5-page report and create an infographic on a country of their choice.
As a means of presenting their new knowledge and appreciation of the country researched, students host the “World Bazaar.” This culminating event takes place at the end of May and students bring in and sell “goods” that either represent or are from their country. The entire school community is invited to attend and shop at the bazaar. All proceeds raised are donated to a world charity agreed upon by the 6th Grade Class. The charities chosen are always related to Mercy’s Critical Concerns.
Mercy’s World Bazaar is a fun way for our students to present their chosen country that they have researched and demonstrate their true understanding and appreciation of our diverse world!
