There are many paths to success
when it comes to your journey at Mercy

Mercy’s Signature Programs and unique co-curricular opportunities allow students to dive deeper into specific areas of interest and study.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Mercy Service

The Mercy Service program is grounded in the tradition of service inspired by Catherine McAuley, fostering a spirit of compassion and social responsibility in our students. Through a variety of service opportunities, students engage with and support the needs of the Rochester community, while also participating in weeklong service trips both nationally and internationally.

Although Mercy Service is voluntary and not a graduation requirement, it offers students valuable experiences that develop leadership, empathy, and a commitment to helping others. Mercy Girls volunteer at places where they tutor children and support after-school programs, lend their time and skills to activities like organizing community events, preparing meals for families, and offering their help at local shelters.

By participating in the Mercy Service program, students gain meaningful experiences that allow them to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. These service opportunities help develop leadership skills, foster empathy, and inspire a deep sense of social responsibility, empowering students to create lasting positive change in their communities and beyond.

Clubs

Mercy offers an expansive variety of clubs for students in grades 6-12. These clubs provide students with the opportunity to explore their passions and interests beyond the classroom, fostering a strong sense of community, sisterhood, and achievement. From Academic Challenge Bowl to Yoga Club, clubs at Mercy cover a wide range of topics, from academics and leadership to sports and community service.

Participants in these clubs have the chance to compete regionally, nationally, and internationally, often bringing home prestigious accolades, including international Top 10 placements. But it is not just the awards that make Mercy clubs special— it is the connections students make, the friendships they cultivate, and the shared commitment to each club’s mission.

Many clubs meet before or after school, on weekends, or during the summer, offering flexible schedules that allow students to stay engaged while maintaining their academic focus. Supported by Mercy leadership and faculty, these clubs provide students with the opportunity to grow, stay active, serve others, and excel academically. More than just extracurricular activities, Mercy clubs are integral to developing well-rounded students who thrive in a vibrant, supportive community.
